11) Title: "Approaches or Methods of Security Engineering"
Scope and Topics: The general systems of today are composed of a number of
components such as servers and clients, protocols, services, and so on.
Systems connected to network have become more complex and wide, but the researches for the systems are focused on the performance or efficiency.
While most of the attention in system security has been focused on encryption technology and protocols for securing the data transaction, it is critical to note that a weakness (or security hole) in any one of the components may comprise whole system.
Security engineering is needed for reducing security holes may be included in the software. There are very many approaches or methods in software development or software engineering. Therefore, more security-related researches are needed to reduce security weakness may be included in the software and complement security-related considerations of general software engineering.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: Application of security engineering to software or IT products development, Application of security engineering to development processes and site, Application of security engineering to operational environments, Parallel use of security assurance approaches or methods, Common criteria (CC) and protection profile (PP), Biometrics, Smart Cards or Other Security Systems, Virus Protection & Ubiquitous Computing Security

17) Title: "Multimedia
Synchronization Model and The Security in the Next Generation Mobile
Information Systems"
Organizer: Dong Chun Lee
Scope: This evolution from
third-generation system is driven by the need for greater bandwidth in
anticipation of an emerging market for mobile multimedia services. The
global growth of interest in the Internet and in high-quality audio, video
conferencing and VOD, coupled with a growing high-bandwidth structure, will
lead to a rapidly expanding market for mobile multimedia services. The
popularity of mobile multimedia services should eventually affect the market
for multimedia wireless networks. For this reason, mobile multimedia based
technologies, such as mobile synchronization technologies, QoS assurance
technologies, mobile IP based multimedia technologies and the security of
mobile information systems, need to be studied and developed for future
services offered to subscribers in future fourth generation mobile
information systems.
The Topics will focus on:
1. Synchronization Model for Multimedia Object in Mobile Environment.
2. Mobile Multimedia System-Wireless LAN, Bluetooth and Wireless IP.
3. Next Generation IP Based Multimedia.
4. Location Management Schemes for Multimedia Mobile Networks.
5. QoS Assurance Technologies- RSVP and DiffServ.
6. Multimedia Mobile Internet - Mobile Commerce and Mobile Office.
